Dubrovnik

Hello guys, today I want to talk to you about my last trip to Dubrovnik in Croatia and I want to thank Ivana Biondic for taking care of us in the entire trip to Croatia and also thanks to the Croatian National Tourism Board @croatiafulloflife for this amazing experience.

But before anything I am going to give you some info about this city:

Dubrovnik is a city in south Croatia fronting the Adriatic sea. It's known for its Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls completed in the 16th century. Its well preserved buildings range from baroque St. Blaise church to Renaissance Sponza Palace and Gothic Rector's Palace. Its total population is 42 615 (census in 2011). In 1979 , the city joined the UNESCO list of world Heritage Sites.

Btw, the tv series Games of Thrones has filmed in this city and this area of Croatia, because of that it has become very popular.

The Old Town is really a nice place to visit!

Then we went to the Trsteno Arboretum.

The arboretum was erected by the local noble family Gozze (see House of Gozze) in the late 15th century, who requested ship captains to bring back seeds and plants from their travels. The exact start date for the arboretum is unknown, but it was already in existence by 1492, when a 15 m span aqueduct to irrigate the arboretum was constructed; this aqueduct is still in use. It has been the property of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts since 1948, when it was donated.

We continued on to a rural household Dubelj – to experience the traditional production of olive oil. Provably like me, you have bought olive oil from the super market and use it in your kitchen or you have had it when you go to a restaurant but let me tell you that this olive oil is the BEST one I ever had in my life!!! ( no body paid me to say that, trust me ) It was even better that any butter.

And we finished our day at Konoba Astarea, a local Tavern in peaceful and quiet Mlini. Local tavern, local food (fish in salt aka riba u soli that had to be hammered! And the billion-calorie Ston cake for dessert). In the 15th century, Mlini used to be the centre of milling trade and used to provide drinking water for the whole of Dubrovnik. A lot of people visiting Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik Riviera prefer staying in towns Mlini and Srebreno, rather than Dubrovnik, since there they enjoy peace and calm, while they’re still in very easy reach of Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik, on the other hand, can get quite busy during summer, prompting you to hide in the shades of Mlini and Srebreno at the breathtaking Dubrovnik Riviera. Sorry I don't have pics or videos because we were busy eating and drinking :)

So please go to visit Dubrovnik and when you do so I recommend you to stay at the Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel and have this view for breakfast
